Perhaps the most obvious difference is that I am male. There are very few (good) male therapists in Miami. As a result I work a lot with men through both therapy and Executive Coaching. My experience in a range of settings from community mental health to luxury wellness settings to private practice has equipped me to work with a wide variety of clients and issues.
I am interested in both therapy and Executive Coaching--is this possible and how does this work?
Yes, some clients take a hybrid approach in that they designate sessions towards personal concerns and other consultations towards leadership/work-place concerns. The Executive Coaching process however involves a minimum commitment of six months while therapy does not involve any minimum commitment.
Do you prescribe medication?
No I don’t. Prescription medications are managed by a Psychiatrist.
What is the difference between Executive Coaching and psychotherapy?
Executive Coaching focuses primarily on improving leadership abilities and other issues related to organizational and team performance. Psychotherapy involves clinical services that address personal mental health challenges like anxiety and depression.
Do you give complimentary consultations?
No I don’t. If you would like to have a brief, 5 minute conversation by phone then you are welcome to contact me. All info about my background and services can be found here on my website.
Do you provide virtual consultations?
Yes. I work with clients across the US and internationally virtually.
Do you accept insurance?
I am a provider on some insurance plans. You must go to helloalma.com to verify your insurance coverage and all claims will be submitted there as well.
What is the next step to schedule an appointment for therapy services?
Schedule an initial assessment here.
Why did you decide to be an executive coach?
Because of my interest in helping people achieve their full potential.
What do you consider your area of specialty in coaching?
My specialty is in helping clients:
1) upskill their leadership abilities and overcome self defeating thinking and behavior
2) helping them lead teams with vision, accountability and alignment
Describe your personal style, your process and overall approach to coaching engagements.
I like to help clients increase self awareness, collaboratively set realistic goals and then work on these together with practical, actionable strategies and frameworks. I like to balance giving support, providing clear feedback and recommendations, and providing clarity.
What are your key strengths as a coach?
My strengths include:
1) my experience having worked for 17 years with a broad range of industries, personalities and complex challenges
2) my ability to help clients stop sabotaging themselves and make sustainable changes
3) building trust, lasting client relationships
What are the 3 most important factors for a successful coaching engagement?
A trusting coach/client relationship. A roadmap of goals. Clear, actionable steps and tools.
What has gotten in the way of successful coaching engagements with your clients? What do you see as potential risks/roadblocks in my situation?
The biggest risk is when the client loses motivation or gets distracted by day to day work. Coaching involves a commitment from both the coach and client to both outcomes and a process.
